Types of Membership
Any company actively and regularly engaged in the United States in processing food products or in marketing contract products is qualified to become a Processor Member of NFPA. Membership dues are calculated based on a company’s U.S. sales; minimum annual dues are $3,000 and are prorated to the month joined.
Any company actively and regularly engaged in the manufacturing of food packaging, food packaging materials, food processing equipment, machinery, non-food supplies, or food ingredients for sale to the food processing industry in the United States is qualified to become a Supplier Member of NFPA. Annual membership dues are based on a company’s annual sales to the U.S. food industry. The current formula is .104 for every $1,000 in sales. Minimum annual dues for a company membership is $5,150 and the maximum is $51,500.
Any company actively and regularly engaged solely outside of the United States in the manufacturing or preparation of eligible processed and packaged products is qualified to become an International Member of NFPA. Annual dues are $3,000.
Any company actively and regularly engaged in furnishing services to the food processing industry is qualified to become an Associate Member of NFPA. Examples include: food brokers, consultants, insurance companies, utility companies, financial advisers, and food marketing companies. Annual dues are $3,000.
